SatCom Global, a leading provider of global satellite communication solutions, has appointed Spectra Telecom as a Service Provider. Spectra is one of the leading UK-based suppliers of Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) and ISDN services to governmental organisations and the military for use in some of the world’s harshest environments.
Spectra will be providing a wide range of portable and handheld mobile satellite communications equipment including SP stations for Inmarsat, Thuraya and Iridium. It has been awarded Service Provider status after exceeding all sales targets and recording significant successes with contracts across a wide range of governmental, military and aid agencies.
According to Spectra: “Satellite communications are an important part of our business that we expect to grow significantly over the coming years. Achieving Service Provider status with SatCom Global will enable us to reduce the cost of deploying and operating this technology for clients operating around the world.”
Satellite technology is a key component of SHADE (Spectra Hostile Area Deployable Environment), a new self-contained rapid deployment network infrastructure recently launched by Spectra. It provides an effective and unique solution to restore voice and data communications where high intensity conflicts, natural disasters, pandemics or terrorist attacks may have destroyed existing networks.
SatCom Global added: “This key partnership will provide us with additional inroads into important governmental and other niche markets. We will be working together to enhance the reputation that Spectra has built for providing ‘best of breed’ solutions and high levels of customer support.”
